Terza pare del viaggio:
road trip tra
Brisbane e
Cairns.
Io e Marc siamo arrivati a
Alla fine, all'
Appena arrivati ci siamo tuffati a fare

Third part of the holidays: road trip between Brisbane and Cairns.
I've arrived with Marc in Brisbane at july 21st late night; we spend the night in the airport and the morning trying to get the van we couldn't book. Finally they give us a model a bit more expansive than the one we would like to have, but it still cheap.
While we were waiting for the van, we had a look of the city to get into the warm mood of Queensland. Brisbane is pretty nice and a lot smaller than I was expecting... Around 2.00 pm we leave, direction sud to Byron Bay.
We've arrived with the sunset; we spend the night playing pool in a quite pub of the city centre with two germans friends who were waiting for us. In the morning I went to the beach while Marc was doing the laundry and in the afternoon we visited Nimbin, probably one of the last truly hippies town in the world... they don't know anything about tobacco's cigarettes!
In the evening we took the way back to Brisbane to a meet a friend, but first we let the two germans at Surfers Paradise.
The third day the real trip began, another friend join us and together we started driving nord. First stop Noosa a strange city like a tourist village, but not 'cause it seem really like that, just 'cause everything is that new that seems fake.
The next day we went to Fraser Island, the biggest sand island in the world, with a 4WD car. The day began driving through the beach for half an hour to arrive to the boarding area.
The island is wired, to be a big sand island has much animals and vegetation. In the heart of the island there's the rain forest and the beautiful Lake Mckenzie.
Back to driving time, we drove up to Bundaberg, a city famous for the Bundaberg Rum. Obviously we went visit the distillery, than we drove a bit more to arrive in Rockhampton, and we spent the night there.
In a raining day we arrived to Airlie Beach, the base to start the excursions to the 74 islands of the archipelago. The next day the weather was worse than the day before... Hoping in a miracle we booked a couple of excursions.
The sun woke us up!
The barrier reef is 74 km away from the cost, but wait for a couple of hours in a boat is nothing when you see what the barrier reef is! When we arrived we didn't wait more, we jumped in the water to start snorkel, was an amazing experience I haven't seen so many fishes!
The day next we went visit the Islands and the famous Whiteheaven Beach, an incredible place with the finest sand I've ever seen and transparent water!
In the morning we started driving up to Mission Beach that I can describe as: sun, sun and fresh coconut directly from the trees!
At the last night we were in Cairns, and the rain came over again, but the holiday was almost finished.
I'm back in Melbourne from 6 days but I still don't know which has been the best part of my holidays!
